DSL Sound Upgrades with JBL and Yamaha
Hagerstown, MD. (May 17, 2006)

DSL Sound, Inc., a regional sound company with offices in Hagerstown and Baltimore, MD, Harrisburg, PA and Dover, DE, recently made one of the most dramatic equipment upgrades in its 25-year history, with the acquisition of a new JBL VerTec rig and a new Yamaha PM5D digital mixing desk.

"Being a JBL dealer, the VerTec system was a no brainer," admitted Kris Heist, vice president.   "For our market, which consists of a mixture of corporate, theater, college, government, and festivals, the 4888DP and 4882DP were the best choice.   Their size, weight, ease of rigging and being self-powered are all perfect for what we do.   Also, if we need more boxes, we just add them.   No need for heavy amp racks and cabling!   I, for one, just don't have the back I had at 21!   We bought a 20 box system with more on the way."

Likewise, Heist reports that the Yamaha PM5D is also a snug fit into the company's market.   "We decided it was time to step into the digital world and the PM5D was an easy choice," he said. "First of all, any touring engineer who requires a digital console will be comfortable with it for FOH or monitors.   Secondly, with all the outputs, onboard processing, small size and light weight, it's the perfect desk for corporate and government events."

The manufacturer's rep for the console was Washington Professional Systems, while the PA's rep was Sigmet Corporation.
